I've always been obsessed with humanoid robots in particular. So in December 2015, I decided to 3D-Print a humanoid of my own design. Qingtian Chen, a friend of mine who also works in the robotics lab, offered to help with the electronics.
The robot is actuated by 10 servo motors and controlled by a Raspberry Pi.
Soon after the original build, I dropped the robot about 3 feet and it shattered in 4 places. It turned out that Chen had printed the parts on a low quality setting and they were mostly hollow on the inside! After epoxying the bot back together, I began to replace the weak components with new, laser cut wooden parts.
